Here’s how it all works……

The Creative Blend Art Program will begin in April 2022 and run for 12 months. Once you have signed up, you will receive a link to the private, password-protected Teachable classroom.

On the first day of each month, you will receive the content for that month. The content for each month will vary, but there will always be videos of a cosy studio chat Q&A, an Art Supply Deep Dive, a Studio Vlog, and a Painting Session. The total viewing time per month will be approximately 2 hours, often more!

 
 
 

The videos are professionally filmed and edited to provide maximum inspiration in short bursts. Individual videos will be approximately 10–40 minutes in duration.

The videos are pre-recorded and can be viewed at your own pace. The course also comes with lifetime access, so you do not need to worry about falling behind. You can revisit the lessons again and again.

you are looking for detailed step-by-step tutorials where the main goal is to paint just like me. There will be creative exercises and in-depth painting sessions but this is not a 'paint-by-numbers' approach.

Each month I will be sharing a blend of ideas, exercises and inspiration to spark your imagination and encourage personal exploration. The foundation of this program is 'play' and to truly play we need to loosen up, experiment and take risks!

Meet Laura, your teacher

Hello, I'm Laura.

I'm a mixed media artist from Adelaide, South Australia. Nine years ago, I picked up a paintbrush. I had two young children, and like many mothers, I felt a little lost amongst all the nappies.

As soon as I reconnected with my creativity, I felt a spark. I quickly fell in love with all things art. The yummy supplies, the supportive community, and the sense of purpose and satisfaction that came from doing something I truly loved.

I followed my passion and built a beautiful, messy life around it. Things rarely went to plan, but I amazed myself with the things that I could do. From selling my work at markets and cafes to running a retreat in Bali, right through to hosting a top-rated art podcast.

Tapping into my creativity gave me clarity and confidence, and it can do this for you too.

  • The Creative Blend Art Program begins on April 1, 2022, and runs for 12 months. Content is delivered monthly via the Teachable password-protected classroom. The year-long subscription has now closed for enrollment. You can still join under the monthly option and purchase each module separately as it is released.

  • The course comes with lifetime access. There is no time limit so you don't need to worry about missing out. You can log into the Teachable classroom at any time to view the videos or you can download the content onto your device.

  • The content for each month will vary, but there will always be videos of a cosy studio chat Q&A, an Art Supply Deep Dive, a Studio Vlog, and a Painting Session. The total viewing time per month will be approximately 2 hours, often more!

    I do not want this to be overwhelming. My vision is that this will be a lovely package of videos to enjoy with a cup of tea. The videos are professionally filmed and edited to provide maximum inspiration in short bursts. Individual videos will be approximately 10–40 minutes in duration.

    In addition to the core videos, there will also be other content that will vary from month to month, including Guest Artist Interviews, PDF Guides, Spotify Playlists, and Downloadable Prints. Plus, there will be exclusive bonuses for year-long subscribers.

  • This course is suitable for anyone who is interested in mixed media painting.The program caters to complete beginners through to more experienced artists. If you are a beginner, the Art Supply Deep Dive included in each month is going to be very helpful. If you are more experienced, you might be familiar with the supplies, but there will be plenty of fresh perspectives shared through the Studio Vlogs, Painting Sessions, and Artist Guests.

  • In the videos, you will see me using a wide variety of supplies, including acrylic paint, watercolour, oil pastels, charcoal, pencils, and more. I don't hold back because I want to share as many mixed media ideas and techniques as I can, but I can't stress enough that you do not need everything!!

    This is a very flexible and adaptable course. You can substitute supplies for almost all of the lessons, and I am happy to suggest alternative options.

    With this in mind, there isn't a specific supply list. Instead, I encourage you to check out my FAVOURITE ART SUPPLIES. This will give you a sense of what I will be using throughout the year and a few ideas to get you started.

    My suggestion would be to watch each module as it comes out and then decide on your supply choices.

  • Yes! You will be invited to join the private Creative Blend Art Program Facebook Group. The Facebook Group is optional as all course content will be posted on Teachable, but if you want to share your work and ask questions, Facebook will be the main platform for participant interaction.
